Jelecos to Sponsor Local Golfer in Cox Classic
Ryan Nietfeldt will wear Jelecos logo in Omaha’s Nationwide Tour event
OMAHA, Neb. – July 17, 2006 –
Technology service provider Jelecos will be represented when the Nationwide Tour rolls into town for the Cox Classic golf tournament here next month. Jelecos announced today that it will sponsor local golfer Ryan Nietfeldt in the event, taking place August 3-6 at Champions Run.
The Jelecos logo will be seen on the course and at tournament events as Nietfeldt, a Grand Island native and former Husker golfer, hits the links in a Jelecos hat. Now an Omaha resident playing professionally on the US Pro Golf Tour and the Tight Lies Tour, Nietfeldt received a sponsor’s exemption into the $650,000 Cox Classic, his first Nationwide Tour event.
“Jelecos is proud to sponsor a local athlete like Ryan as he represents our city in this major professional event,” said Leon Thomas, president of Jelecos. “At Jelecos, supporting the Omaha community is an important part of who we are. We will all be rooting for Ryan alongside his family, friends and fans as he sports the Jelecos name in front of the thousands who attend Omaha’s top golf tournament.”
Last year’s Cox Classic drew more than 100,000 attendees, making it the largest professional sporting event in the state of Nebraska.
“I’m very happy for the opportunity to play in the Cox Classic and to represent Jelecos,” said Nietfeldt. “It’s exciting to have a great local company like Jelecos sponsor me as I play in Omaha’s premier professional tournament.”
