Summary

The Service Desk Intern is the ‘face and voice’ of Jelecos to our clients. The role is responsible for providing “service excellence” to our clients through responsive, quality, and professional client support conducted by answering and making phone calls, communicating via emails, creating and resolving service desk cases.

The role requires a client first attitude.  Timely, quality, and complete resolution to client cases is paramount to ensuring a positive, long term partnership between Jelecos and the client.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Primary role in processing new client incidents and requests.
  • Provides initial technical support to resolve or assist in the resolution of level 1 client incidents and requests.
  • Resolves and/or escalates cases in a timely fashion by following procedure and process documents.
  • Assists in maintaining documentation for clients and technology infrastructure.
  • Participates in client (internal and external) project related tasks.
  • Conducts other duties as assigned.

Formal Education & Certification

  • High School diploma
  • In the process of obtaining higher education (e.g. university) degree in the field of management information systems, computer science, information security, computer engineering, or business administration preferred.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Basic knowledge of networking
  • Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems
  • Basic knowledge of mobile devices

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
  • Works in a team environment
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computing equipment
  • Work is performed on a computer typing while on the phone communicating with clients
  • Work requires equipment assembly, configuration, and setup in an office or data center environment
  • Lifting and transporting technology related equipment required
  • Sitting for extended periods of time

Term 

  • 6 month paid internship
